Funnies

Some of the family might have already heard some of this, but I wanted to put it on this blog. Sometimes at church, we get a laugh at some of the things that kids do or say. In Bryce's words about a few of the experiences we've had, "One restless girl who was making faces at us like little kids do in church must have had her parents wondering who was sitting behind them mirroring the face-making. During the passing of the sacrament, the girl suddenly disclosed to us quite loudly, 'My mommy’s pregnant!!!!' Now her parents were not only embarrassed, but also had to turn to see to whom this sensitive information had been leaked and, in the process, discover who had been making faces at their child. That is the awkward moment I always hope won’t come when I've been making faces at a backward-facing churby." (Churby = church baby)  :]

"A similar moment occurred when we had been watching a little boy in the row ahead of us peak at us from one side of his father’s face then the other. Our little game of peek-a-boo went on and we felt like we had made a little friend. Near the end of sacrament, after our interactions had slowed to an occasional glance, the little boy had somehow hurt his finger. When he went to his mother for comfort, she softly asked him what had happened. We were surprised to see him immediately point his accusing little digit right at us. Needless to say, we felt betrayed by our little buddy. The mom seemed to understand that we hadn’t hurt him, but it was still a little awkward."

Those were both experiences from a previous ward, but we have noticed a lot of funny kids in the ward we're in now as well. On Sunday, a little girl saw a family get up to leave a little early from the first meeting. She said to her dad in a concerned voice, "Why are they leaving?? They can't leave early, they just can't." We thought that was cute. Another little girl gave us a mischievous grin when she saw me pass a starburst to Bryce. She caught us eating a snack ;) Anyway, kids are so funny. We like teaching primary because we get to learn from the kids in the ward, they all have amazing faith.

Love, Us
